Having studied at Film and Video Department of York University in Toronto,
Lenka has worked within the field of visual media for the past fifteen
years. Although she spent the first years after graduation closely focused
on film, still photography always held a strong appeal to her as a tool
of very personal visual expression.
Along with Lenka's deepening passion for the Canadian landscape, especially
the Great Lakes, came her desire to express this heartfelt admiration
through photography. To achieve this, she has been increasingly devoting
herself to this field developing her skills and spending more time on
her favourite locations.
Lenka's subjects range from evocative landscapes, reflected images, rocks,
scenic and still life, to urban landscape. In the past two years, she
exhibited her photographs several times in Toronto and in the Czech Republic.
Presently, she is working as a freelance photographer, while launching
Photo Shared Visions, the company she jointly founded with her partner,
photographer David Hrabal.

After graduating from Toronto's York University program in ecology, David
spent several years working for environmental organizations engaged in
the protection of Canadian parks and other ecologically sensitive areas.
Since his tasks would often involve research into various aspects of wildlife,
he has learned to use photography to support documentation and presentation
of his work. Also, at the same time he has found plenty of opportunities
to develop and expand his photographic skills beyond the documentary point
of view.
Various aspects of the natural environment remain his main subject until
today. To express his personal relationship to nature, and to look closely
at its diverse shapes and textures which never cease to amaze him, he
seeks the details rather than larger landscape themes.
Aside from photography and the development of Photo Shared Visions, David
is also presently involved in multimedia presentation and Web design projects.
